For connoisseurs who want to take their time, to experience and savour the mountains in winter, Highland Perthshire is the perfect location. Being based in the attractive village of Killin, at the end of Loch Tay, provides easy access to a whole range of walking amongst, between and on the winter hills. We'll be spoilt for choice.

Winter Highland Perthshire - Brief Itinerary:

Meet: Stirling Railway station at 08.45 or C~N~Do Scotland office at 09.00. Pickup on route to Killin is possible if arranged in advance.

Return: Stirling at before 12.00.

Day 1: Drive through Doune, Callander and Lochearnhead towards the village of Killin. Either there or on route we'll stop to pop up some wee hill or other.

Days 2-4: Actual routes will be selected on the day taking in to account the weather, group fitness and special requests. The following are just some of the many possibilities:

  • Hills in the Lawers, Glen Lochay, Glen Lyon or Crianlarich ranges
  • Creag MacRanaich
  • Gleann Dubh & Glen Kendrum
  • Meall Buidhe (G. Ogle)
  • Schiehallion

We can range quite widely to access better, or to escape over dramatic weather conditions.

Day 5: Travel back to Stirling to arrive before 1200.
