Return: 22:00
Day 1: Meet at Stirling Rail Station at 16.45 or at our office at 17.00. Head off on our Lairig Ghru walking holiday. Travel to Braemar, via Perth and Blairgowrie, to our accommodation. There will be a stop on route for an evening meal.
Day 2: An early start! Ready to leave our accommodation by 08.00, for the drive to Linn of Dee, the start of the grove route through the Lairig Ghru. Ready to walk by 08.30. Our route follows the old drove route to Loch Morlich through the Lairig Ghru and the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. The route uses tracks and hill paths and crosses a boulder field in the upper reaches, as it rises to a height of nearly 3,000 ft at the top of the pass. A long day (9-10 hours walking), 18 miles / 29km) should be expected and equipped for. On arrival at Loch Morlich, we will return to Stirling via Aviemore and Perth to arrive about 21.30-23.00.
