Mullardoch Raid

About the Mullardoch Raid
One of the great hill walking expeditions for spring / early summer in the Highlands is the traverse of the hills around Loch Mullardoch, when the ridges are fringed by lingering snow patches, and the scenery is just fantastic. This high level route will allow you to claim 12 Munros, some of which can otherwise be awkward to get at, by following the great ridges that surround the loch. There is some lumpy, bumpy terrain here and there, and a bit of clambering but nothing too scary. This is high mountain trekking at its best!
Backpacking and wild camping are required.

Ben Alder Raid Brief Itinerary:
Meet: Stirling Railway station at 08:00 or C~N~Do Scotland's office at 08:15.
Return: Stirling at approximately 19:00
Day 1: Assemble at our Stirling base, where there will be a short briefing session, equipment check and issue. After that we head to Glen Cannich and to the Mullardoch Dam and start walking towards a possible camp site by Loch Tuill Bhearnach (~6ml / 9km, ~550m ascent). We might feel like popping up Carn nan Gobhar in the evening, or we can leave it to the morning (~2½ml / 4km, ~440m ascent ).
Day 2: We start on the high level circuit with Sgurr na Lapaich then head over An Riabhachan and An Socach towards the far end of the loch and a camping spot on the south of the river (~10ml / 16km, ~1100m ascent).
Day 3: Today it's up over Mullach na Dheiragain to Sgurr nan Ceathreamhan then on over another An Socach to drop down into Coire Ghaidheil for the night (~10ml / 15km, ~1200m ascent).
Day 4: Onward and upward today over Mam Sodhail and out to the distant Beinn Fhionnlaidh, returning back over Carn Eige. Then we head east along the delightful ridge with its gendarmes to Tom a'Choinich. Continue on to find an overnight stop somewhere near the very attractive Allt Toll Easa (~11ml / 17km, ~1250m ascent).
Day 5: And finally we pack up for the last time up over Toll Creagach, across the Doire Tana as we head back down towards the road head to meet our transport (~6ml / 10km, ~250m ascent). After sorting out our kit we head off back to Stirling arriving there around 5pm).
