From time to time we advertise special offers and selected discounts on our website. They do change, so it is important to check regularly and take advantage of them whilst they are available. Day Walks
We have two trips up Ben Nevis planned over the next few months, so if you have always wanted to stand on the top of our highest mountain now is the chance. The dates are the 24th May and 16th June. Availability on some other forthcoming walks is a bit limited. The Aonach Eagach on the 10th June filled up so rapidly we had to include a second date of 14th July on which there is currently only one space still available. Better hurry if you are interested. We will be making up our next day walk programme very soon for July – December of this year. If you have any special requests which you would like included, now is the time to let us know.
Going Green
If you have received any paper communication from us recently you may have noticed that our headed paper has changed. Not only do we have a smart new design but the new paper is 100% recycled cotton. If you thought recycled paper was of inferior quality we suggest you take at look at this. Our new carbon offsetting scheme is proving a success. So far your donations have totalled £245 all of which has gone to the National Trust for Scotland peatland restoration project on Arran. If you would like more information or want to make a donation go to our carbon conservation scheme page. You can use the scheme for travel in general not just when coming on a CNDo trip!
Holiday Insurance
We always strongly recommend taking out travel insurance when booking a holiday. Nobody expects to have to cancel when they book a holiday but unfortunately unexpected things can and do happen e.g. loss of job, illness in the family etc. We are pleased to be able to announce that we have entered into a partnership scheme with Worldwide Insurance Ltd which should make the process easier for you. Scotland's newest long distance walk which only opened in August 2006, is proving very popular with our customers. Most spaces on our guided departures are already booked with only very limited availability left. However, if you are happy finding your own way around, we are also offering the route as a self-guided option, with walking over 5 – 8 days.
Self-Guided
It's not just the Kintyre Way that we can offer on a self guided basis. Virtually any long distance route can be suitable as a self guided holiday, and the big advantage of this is that it is completely flexible to fit in around your specific requirements. You choose the date, the route, number of walking days, type of accommodation and we do all the planning for you. All you need to worry about is doing the walking – sorry, but we can’t do that for you, although we will transport your overnight stuff!
Farewell
If you have been on many holidays with us in the past you may have met Penny Lee, a leader, and Alex Cummings, a support manager. Both Penny and Alex have decided to retire gracefully from active C-N-Do service; Penny to travel more and Alex to spend time with his grandchildren. We wish them both all the best for a long, happy and active retirement.
PÁramo News
The new summer PÁramo range of outdoor clothing is now available both online and at our premises in Stirling. We have a separate newsletter mailing list for those of you interested in Páramo, so let us know if you wish to sign up for this. Also you are first to know that we are planning a sale week 28th May – 1st June! We’ll be glad to see you 'in-store' or you can purchase 'on-line'.
Nordic Walking
Now that we have a Nordic Walking instructor in the team you will shortly have the chance to try this rapidly expanding activity. Look out for dates for individual booking in the autumn but, if you have a small group, we can set up a 'come and try it' session or series at any mutually suitable time.
And Finally
We have made a few background changes to our website recently. Hopefully all is working well but you could always help us test it by sending in a holiday booking!
